How Clarion Health Reviews works
Clarion Health Reviews is an independent publication. We buy the supplements we cover, test them ourselves, gather reader ratings, and publish a balanced verdict. We are not a manufacturer and not a store, and our scores are not for sale.
Who we are
Clarion Health Reviews is a small editorial desk operated by Clarion Review Media, LLC, based in Asheville, North Carolina, publishing since 2018. Our beat is the crowded world of direct-to-consumer supplements, where marketing often runs ahead of evidence. Our job is to slow that down: to read the label, check the ingredients against independent sources, use the product, and tell you plainly what we found, including the parts a brand would rather gloss over.
Our reviewer
This review was overseen by Renata Voss, MS, RDN, a registered dietitian nutritionist who leads our supplement coverage. Her role is to sanity-check our ingredient reporting against reputable references such as the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, NCCIH, and peer-reviewed literature, and to keep our language compliant and non-promotional. She does not diagnose or treat readers, and nothing here is medical advice.
How we test
For a product like GlucoVive, one of our team members runs it for a full trial period, typically 60 days, at the label dose, and logs energy, cravings, digestion, and any side effects. We note the practical stuff too: taste, ease of use, how quickly it ships, and how the refund process actually goes if we request one. We do not run clinical assays, and we say so. Our hands-on notes are an honest first-person account, not a laboratory study.
How we score
Our editorial score is a weighted average across eight criteria. The weighting reflects what we think matters most to a buyer:
- Effectiveness (30%): does it do what it claims for most users?
- Value for money (15%): price against what you actually get
- Label transparency (15%): are ingredients and doses disclosed?
- Tolerability (10%): how well people handle it
- Onset speed (10%): how long results take
- Ease of use (10%): format and daily routine
- Support and refunds (10%): how the guarantee holds up
We deliberately weight transparency heavily, which is why GlucoVive, a proprietary blend that hides its doses, scores 4.1 from us even though readers rate it 4.3. When a brand publishes more, its score can rise.
How we use reader ratings
The community numbers in our reviews come from ratings readers submit and from publicly visible sentiment we aggregate. We present them as a plausible, honest snapshot, not independently audited data, and we keep the negative themes in view rather than cherry-picking praise. The review form on our site is moderated and, for now, is a way to hear from readers; submitted reviews do not post automatically and are not fed into our structured data.
Editorial independence and how we are funded
Clarion Health Reviews is reader-supported. When we link to a manufacturer's official website, that is usually an affiliate link, and if you buy through it we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That funding pays for the products we buy and the time we spend testing. It does not buy a good review. We reach our verdict first, and the commission is the same whether we rate a product highly or poorly. You can read the specifics in our affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
If a brand publishes new information, such as third-party lab results or ingredient doses, we update the review and note it. Spot an error? Email [email protected] and we will look into it.
